“The Special Edition” THE LOTUS FLOWER & THE MELODIES OF A HEART “A Poetry Collection of Pure Love and Egyptian Nostalgia” Poems by the Poet: Ashraf Abdel-Hamid El-Genbihy Sentiments by: Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Fayad, Scholar of the Unified Word
This collection seeks to evoke an ancient Egyptian vision through a modern, emotive language: a flower that emerges from the water without ever drowning in it—blooming upon the surface of the Nile, opening its heart to the light, and remaining etched in memory long after the lovers have parted ways.
In this poetic realm, the lotus flower transcends the status of a mere character; it becomes a multi-layered symbol—representing Egypt, civilization, beauty, chaste love, and a memory that requires no possession to endure. The text thus returns to the Nile, the breeze, the temples, and history, serving as a testament to a story that, while brief in time, is profound in its enduring struggle.
At the core of this perspective lies a fundamental idea: the value of love does not lie in the beloved becoming the property of the lover, but rather in the gentle, lasting imprint left upon the soul. Consequently, the lotus declares that it will neither seek a promise of return nor demand further discourse; it finds fulfillment in being seen, dreamed of, and cherished by the one who loved it—transforming the words born from this experience into a light for others.
DANCING ON THE STRINGS OF LOVE
Now I collect all that is in my heart Then I intend to leave and depart At the borders of your eyes, so smart I reside your lovely eyelashes that are burning, Then escort you like a paper you bring every morning, In which I do crossword puzzles in the evening. I wanted to live with you in the fall, That makes me feel that I am weak and frail That moves my senses, my feelings,… all. I feel a strong desire in everything around me, Then I find myself in a bad need of everything I see.
DON’T BLAME THE PEN WHEN IT WRITES
Oh, just tell me what place you are going, So, I will come fast, much faster than lightning, Or like horses that cause chaos and clamor, Or thrilled with wine, like a drunk in summer. No longer can I be a heavy drunk as before, With love, nor carry my frail body anymore. It sways all the time as it carries my soul That groans for your absence from me, that's all. The music I have heard with you , still in my ear, Resounds and screams , and this I can't bear.
I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IF YOU HAD NOT EXISTED
How can I live such life that's bitter and sore, Without you, my love, and go on to live much more? How can such love be suppressed and killed by life With such ugliness, with such a sharp knife, While love gives us much hope and delight, And fills us with peace, joy and light ? So, be like the strong bird's wing for me, To fly towards you, happy and free, To know all about you, my love, and see All what concerns you in a life, so eerie.
I WAS DEFEATED AT THE FIRST LONGING DAGGER
Oh, just tell me what place you are going, So, I will come fast, much faster than lightning, Or like horses that cause chaos and clamor, Or thrilled with wine, like a drunk in summer. No longer can I be a heavy drunk as before, With love, nor carry my frail body anymore. It sways all the time as it carries my soul That groans for your absence from me, that's all. The music I have heard with you , still in my ear, Resounds and screams , and this I can't bear.
ONLY YOUR LETTERS ARE MY MELODIES
How great you are, O you who will depart From all my worlds and from my sad heart. You will leave all the places void of you. Yet, history will go on in silence and awe. What will it record about me, I really don't know. What will it record about my loss, About my cowardice and so my weakness? You left hollow days for me, which had passed by Which never cared about my grief or sigh, Or my deep wounds, or my great desire, Or my stumbling steps, as if I was on fire. I fell in her arms like someone who was dead, But she never cared about what in love was said, Or about my death, or my heart that was slain, Alas, she was never moved by my pain!

My love lives in a poetry book
As poems' prisoner,
Poetry fears that if released,
It will drown in a sea
Of tears,
For its words were infatuated with his laughs
That they were weaving into moans
For poets.
My poems were torn asunder by my anger,
And my jealousy burned all my words,
For my love is my prisoner.
The Last Line A collection of poems By Ahmed Morsi
A collection of poems By Ahmed Morsi If I were to live much longer, My love for you would be so much stronger, For you dwell in the depths of my heart, So sweet; you seem like honey, and smart. When I close my eyes to see you, Distant planets appear in a charming view. Your lips also seem like the full round moon, Your face is like the dawn or the sun at noon. Like the scent of roses when we meet together, When we whisper to the breeze and love each other. When we see that cloud, that comes with rain, When the flutes of love play our tunes again. When the sun of hopes does never change, Yet, life will continue with us. How strange!
