قطعة سكر للشاعرة سهام حمودة

My love lives in a poetry book
As poems' prisoner,
Poetry fears that if released,
It will drown in a sea
Of tears,
For its words were infatuated with his laughs
That they were weaving into moans
For poets.
My poems were torn asunder by my anger,
And my jealousy burned all my words,
For my love is my prisoner.

لا تلُم القلم حين يكتب
Oh, just tell me what place you are going, So, I will come fast, much faster than lightning, Or like horses that cause chaos and clamor, Or thrilled with wine, like a drunk in summer. No longer can I be a heavy drunk as before, With love, nor carry my frail body anymore. It sways all the time as it carries my soul That groans for your absence from me, that's all. The music I have heard with you , still in my ear, Resounds and screams , and this I can't bear.

ما كنت إلا لأنك موجود
How can I live such life that's bitter and sore, Without you, my love, and go on to live much more? How can such love be suppressed and killed by life With such ugliness, with such a sharp knife, While love gives us much hope and delight, And fills us with peace, joy and light ? So, be like the strong bird's wing for me, To fly towards you, happy and free, To know all about you, my love, and see All what concerns you in a life, so eerie.
