Dr. Mohamed Fayad has been a Professor of Computer Engineering at San Jose State University since 2002. Between 1995 and 1999, he was an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the School of Computer Engineering at the University of Nevada. He subsequently served as the J.D. Edwards Professor of Software Engineering in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, from 1999 to 2002. He has over fifteen years of industry experience and ten years as a software engineer at companies such as MACD, Neil Douglas, and Philips Research Laboratory. His reputation has grown thanks to his achievements in the industry. 

In addition, he has been an IEEE featured speaker, associate editor, editorial consultant, and columnist for The Communications of ACM. He had a column called Thinking Objectively. He was also a columnist for the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, which has about 2 million subscribers. He was editor-in-chief of the IEEE Computer Society Press – Computer Science and Engineering Press (1995-1997). Dr. Fayad has been a guest editor on 11 topics related to small software engineering and application frameworks, object-oriented approaches to distributed control engineering, web-based software engineering, stable and unified machine learning in progress, and much more. All of this research and scientific contributions take place in a period extending from October 1995 to April 2012. Dr. Fayad has published more than 300 high-quality articles, including in-depth and well-cited reports in many prestigious journals. He has given 24 workshops at highly prestigious conferences and more than 125 educational programs, seminars, and short presentations in more than 25 states in the USA since 1978. He was also active in his work and workshops in over 35 countries.
