Educational Journey and Mentors
Driven by a profound quest for knowledge, Sheikh Hassan traveled extensively to study under Egypt’s premier Quranic scholars. Over a period of three years, he mastered the Ten Minor Qira’at (via the Shatibiyyah and Durrah pathways) under the tutelage of the renowned scholar Sheikh Fathallah Saad Abu Samaha, the former Head of Reciters for Beheira. As one of the Sheikh’s closest students, he completed the recitation of the entire Quran multiple times under his supervision, covering various styles and narrations.
In addition, he completed a full recitation of the Ten Qira’at through the method of Jam’ bi-al-Tahrir under Sheikh Hasanayn Jibril. He also studied under Sheikh Adel Awad Abdu Hashem, the current Head of Reciters for Beheira, focusing on both individual and combined recitation styles.
Furthering his mastery, he received the Seven Qira’at from Sheikh Muhammad Yunus al-Ghalban in Desouk. Sheikh al-Ghalban is noted for having one of the shortest chains of transmission (Isnad) in the world, with only 27 intermediaries between himself and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Sheikh Hassan also refined his craft under several other masters of precision, including:
Sheikh Hassan Said al-Skandari
The late Sheikh Abdul Hamid Yusuf Mansour
Sheikh Al-Sayyid Khattab Abdul Hamid al-Maghribi
Sheikh Refat al-Bastawisi
Sheikh Abdul Fattah Madkour
He holds numerous certifications (Ijazat) in classical Quranic texts, such as the Shatibiyyah, Durrah, Jazariyyah, and Tuhfah. Notably, he also studied under prominent female scholars, including Sheikha Tanazir bint Mustafa al-Najouli and Sheikha Samia Bakr al-Bannasi, as well as the esteemed Dr. Ali Tawfiq al-Nahas.
Certifications and Accreditations
Sheikh Hassan earned a prestigious certificate of commendation and authorization with an “Excellent” grade from the late Sheikh Abdul Hakim Abdul Latif, the former Grand Sheikh of Egyptian Reciters, and Sheikh Sayyid Abdul Majid, Vice Chairman of the Mushaf Review Committee, specifically for the recitation of Imam Asim al-Kufi.
Furthermore, he was authorized to transmit Imam al-Tirmidhi’s Al-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyah after studying the text with Dr. Muhammad Ismail al-Muqaddim.
Professional Career and Global Outreach
In 2014 (1435 AH), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs selected Sheikh Hassan to lead the Ramadan prayers at the Saad Su’ud al-Adwani Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Kuwait’s Farwaniya Governorate.
Since 2023, he has been invited to lead prayers at various mosques across the United Kingdom. As a dedicated educator, he has taught a vast number of students from both Egypt and abroad, focusing on the preservation and precise recitation of the Quran.
Among his most significant contributions to the field is the recording of a complete recited Quran (Murattal) according to the narration of Al-Duri on the authority of Imam al-Kisa’i. Produced by Aeeh Press, this scholarly work stands as a testament to his technical mastery and artistic command of Quranic recitations.
